2007 Recruiting News | G/SF Darrion Pellum Verbals to Hokies
Darrion Pellum, a 6′6″ shooting guard or small forward, verballed to the Hokies on Tuesday, making him the sixth member of the 2007 Recruiting Class. He is repeating his senior season at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA after playing for the Hampton Crabbers previously.
Pellum averaged close to 20 points per game this season and is a good three-point and free throw shooter.
Darrion can sign on the dotted line in April when the Spring signing period begins. He is a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com and Scout.com.
From Scout.com’s free profile of Darrion:
“Strong wing player who was originally a member of the Class of 2006 out of Hampton, Va. Could be a big time scorer, especially if he takes his conditioning seriously. Can shoot it and drive to cup with success.”

Hokie News | Brad Greenberg Leaves VT Staff to Coach radford
Brad Greenberg, formerly Tech’s associate head coach under his brother Seth, was introduced on Friday as the new head coach of the radford highlanders. It is not expected that he will take any of the other assistants away from his brother and no news has been released yet about replacing Brad on the VT staff. This would sure make a game against the highlanders even more interesting.
radford finished 8-22 this past season. Brad has no head coaching experience.

TechHoops.com NCAA Pool Update
Congrats to “Vpivet” who is the only player out of the 37 that entered the TechHoops.com NCAA pool to pick all of the Final Four teams. Vpivet only had one of the Elite Eight incorrect.
8 Ball is making up for his dismal ACC Tournament picks by leading the TechHoops.com staff with 3 of the 4 Final Four teams. I am out of it since I picked the Hokies to win it all.

Props to the Hammerin’ Hokies (Baseball)
The Hokies baseball team has already equaled the number of ACC wins they had all of last year in just eight games with four. Tech fell to #4 unc in the rubber game of the series on Sunday, but beat the heels yesterday. VT is now 4-5 in ACC play after going just 4-24 last year under retired Head Coach Chuck Hartman. The Hokies are now led by Peter Hughes and are 15-10 overall on the season. Tech even won their first ACC series of the season at historically terrific georgia tech.
